Park Slope

Manhattan too noisy/crowded/expensive? Discover the neighborhood designed to offer Manhattan-style living at an affordable price! Combining dramatic single-family homes with brownstone blocks, Park Slope has something for everyone. The tour will visit several impressive churches, the ornate Montauk Club, the home of former NYC Mayor William Jay Gaynor, the site of the 1960 plane crash, and sites associated with George Washington’s retreat during the Battle of Brooklyn, architect Charles P. H. Gilbert, and the inventor of Chiclets gum! Situated along the edge of Prospect Park this is a perfect companion tour to our Prospect Park walk.

"For most of my life, I believed independent travel was the only route to the real unfiltered stuff. I eschewed group experiences like the plague, most of all, anything incorporating the word tour. My mistake. I’ve gained some of my best travel memories from being herded around with a bunch of strangers on a Big Onion Walking Tour."
